Mbulu White-eye

Zosterops mbuluensis

The Mbulu White-eye (Zosterops mbuluensis) is a small passerine bird found in the Mbulu Highlands of Tanzania. It has a distinctive white eye-ring, olive-green upperparts, and a yellow throat. This species is known for its cheerful and melodious song, often heard in the montane forests and woodland habitats where it forages for insects and nectar. The Mbulu White-eye is a social bird, often found in small flocks, and it plays a vital role in pollination and seed dispersal within its ecosystem. However, due to habitat loss and fragmentation, its population is declining, and it is currently considered Vulnerable according to the IUCN Red List.
