Ninox meeki
Meek's Pygmy Owl (Ninox meeki) is a small owl species found in the rainforests of New Guinea. This owl is known for its distinct heart-shaped facial disk and large yellow eyes. Meek's Pygmy Owl preys on small birds, mammals, and insects, using its excellent vision and silent flight to hunt effectively. It is a solitary and territorial bird, often perching in dense foliage during the day and becoming active at dusk. The species is not well studied, and more research is needed to understand its behavior and ecology.
