Melodious Babbler, Malacopteron palawanense, is a passerine of the Pellorneidae family found in the Palawan group of south-western Philippines. It was described by Büttikofer in 1895. Its breeding range is confined to Palawan and Balabac, where it lives in tropical moist lowland forest, including primary forest and mature secondary forest, up to 100 metres above sea level. It is especially associated with thick undergrowth. The species is one of the birds known as the Tres Amigos, or Three Friends, in Palawan, and it is noted for its musical call.
