The Metallic Starling, also known as the Shining Starling, is a medium-sized bird native to the islands of New Guinea and nearby regions. It is known for its iridescent plumage, which shimmers with metallic green, blue, and purple hues in the sunlight. These social birds are often found in large flocks, foraging for fruits, insects, and nectar in forested areas and open woodlands. They are highly vocal, producing a variety of whistles, clicks, and harsh calls. The Metallic Starling is not currently considered to be at risk, and its population is stable.
