Mexican Hermit

Phaethornis mexicanus

The Mexican Hermit, or Phaethornis mexicanus, is a species of hummingbird found in Mexico and Central America. It is known for its distinctive long, curved bill which it uses to feed on nectar from flowers. This species is often found in tropical and subtropical forests, as well as in coffee plantations and gardens. The Mexican Hermit is a small hummingbird with iridescent green plumage and a white or buffy throat. It is an important pollinator for many plant species and plays a vital role in maintaining the ecological balance of its habitat.
