Philemon meyeri Salvadori, 1878
Meyer's Friarbird, Philemon meyeri, is a passerine in the Meliphagidae family and occurs in New Guinea, except the Bird's Head, north-western areas and the lower Fly region in south-eastern New Guinea. It is associated with subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. The bird’s common name honours Adolf Bernard Meyer, a German anthropologist and ornithologist who worked in the Dutch East Indies.
