Mindanao Boobook, Ninox spilocephala, is an owl of the Strigidae family in the southern Philippines, with a breeding range on Basilan, Mindanao, Siargao and Dinagat Islands. It was described by Tweeddale in 1879. It lives in tropical moist lowland primary forest. The bird is an earless boobook and is set apart within the Philippine hawk-owl group by its call, which is more dove-like than the usual screeching. It also has mottled rufous-brown streaking on the breast and a whitish belly.
