Moluccan Dwarf Kingfisher, Ceyx lepidus, is a bird of the Moluccas in Australasia, breeding across the islands except Buru. It belongs to the kingfisher family and was described by Temminck in 1836. It is a sylvan species found in moist lowland forest, shrubland, wetlands, abandoned plantations and thick growth beside streams. It is a small bird with a blue-black base colour, orange-red bill, dark brown eyes, bright orange underparts and a black tail tip. Adults also show an orange forehead spot, a white neck triangle and a white or yellowish-white throat.
