Mayrornis schistaceus
The Moluccan Flycatcher (Mayrornis schistaceus) is a small passerine bird native to the Maluku Islands in Indonesia. It is characterized by its distinctive plumage, with a slate-grey head, back, and wings, and a contrasting bright rufous-orange belly and undertail coverts. This species is known for its agile and acrobatic foraging behavior, often catching insects on the wing in the dense forest understory. The Moluccan Flycatcher is typically found in lowland and montane forests, where it inhabits the mid to upper levels of the canopy.
