Todiramphus enigma

The Moluccan kingfisher (Todiramphus enigma) is a striking bird native to the Moluccan Islands in Indonesia. It is characterized by its vibrant blue and white plumage, with a contrasting orange bill. This species is known for its distinctive call, a series of high-pitched whistles. Moluccan kingfishers primarily inhabit tropical forests and mangrove areas, where they hunt for small fish, insects, and crustaceans. They are often observed perched on branches near water bodies, patiently waiting to dive and catch their prey.
