Moluccan Lory
Trichoglossus capistratus
The Moluccan Lory, also known as the Seram Lory, is a colorful parrot species native to the Moluccan Islands in Indonesia. These medium-sized parrots are known for their vibrant plumage, which consists of a combination of red, orange, and yellow feathers. They are highly social birds and are often found in flocks, particularly in forested areas. Moluccan Lories are nectarivorous, feeding on flower nectar, pollen, fruits, and seeds. They are also known for their playful and inquisitive nature, making them popular pets among avian enthusiasts. Unfortunately, habitat loss and trapping for the pet trade have led to population declines in the wild.
