Montezuma Quail

This species prefers dense, brushy habitats with oak and pine trees, often found in mountainous regions. The Montezuma Quail feeds on a variety of seeds, insects, and vegetation. It is a ground-dwelling bird, rarely taking to the air. Due to habitat loss and hunting pressures, the Montezuma Quail faces conservation challenges.
