Montserrat Oriole, Icterus oberi, is a passerine in the Icteridae family that breeds on Montserrat in North America. It was described by Lawrence in 1880 and is the island’s national bird. The species is confined to the Centre Hills and South Soufriere Hills, where it lives in montane evergreen forest that is moist to wet. It occurs in mature and younger forest, but seems to favour the latter. Its remaining range lies mainly between about 250 and 900 m, though it can be found as low as 100 m.
