Pachycephala tenebrosa (Hartlaub & Finsch, 1868)

Morningbird, Pachycephala tenebrosa, is a passerine in the Pachycephalidae family and breeds in Palau, in the western Caroline Islands of Micronesia. It is found on Babeldaob, Koror, Ngercheu, Peleliu and Ngebad, where it lives in deep primary tropical moist lowland forest. The bird was first described in 1868 by Hartlaub and Finsch. It has been moved between several genera, including Colluricincla and Pitohui, and has also been treated as the only species in Malacolestes. It is non-migratory and is reported to be more common on the smaller islands in its range.
