Moss-backed Sparrow, Arremon dorbignii, is a passerine of the family Passerellidae that breeds in South America from central Bolivia to north-western Argentina. It lives in tropical deciduous forest, including both mature and regenerating stands, and is also found along forest margins, in clearings within woodland and beside waterways. It is set apart by the adult male’s mostly black head, white eyebrow, grey crown streak and narrow black band across the upper chest, while the female is duller and the young are less vivid still.
