Moss-backed Tanager, Bangsia edwardsi, is a passerine in the tanager family that breeds in Colombia and Ecuador. It is restricted to the Western Andes of western Colombia and north-western Ecuador, where it lives in dense, humid forests on the Pacific slope. The bird is a chunky tanager with a large head, moss-green upperparts, dark green wings with a blue tint, olive underparts, a bright golden yellow chest patch, and a black head with shining blue sides. It was described by Elliot, DG, in 1865.
