Collocalia neglecta
The Mossy-nest swiftlet (Collocalia neglecta) is a small, insectivorous bird found in the forests and limestone caves of Southeast Asia. It is known for its remarkable ability to navigate through dark caves using echolocation. These swiftlets build their unique nests using moss and saliva, which are highly prized for their culinary and medicinal properties. The Mossy-nest swiftlet has a distinctive forked tail and is often seen darting through the air in search of flying insects. Despite facing threats from habitat loss and collection of its nests, the Mossy-nest swiftlet populations are currently stable.
