Mottled Duck, Anas fulvigula, is a duck in the Anatidae family and the Anseriformes order. It breeds in North America, mainly in the south-central and south-eastern parts of the continent. The species is a dabbling duck that is closely tied to the mallard and the American black duck, and it is sometimes mistaken for a mallard subspecies. It is largely resident rather than migratory, and along the Gulf of Mexico coast it is among the waterfowl most often banded.
