Mottled Piculet

This species is typically found in lowland and foothill forests, where it forages for insects and grubs on tree trunks and branches. Mottled Piculets are known for their rapid drumming and pecking behavior. They are often observed in pairs or small groups, and their presence can be detected by their high-pitched calls. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and fragmentation are potential threats to their populations.
