Mountain Buzzard, Buteo oreophilus, is a bird of prey in the family Accipitridae, breeding from Ethiopia south to Malawi in eastern Africa. It was described by Hartert, EJO and Neumann in 1914. It is tied to montane forest and to broken patches of that habitat, and in Malawi it is limited to montane rainforest. A key feature is its close resemblance to the steppe buzzard, with adults showing brown upperparts, pale underparts marked with heavy brown spotting, and a tail that is brown above and light grey below.
