Elaenia frantzii Lawrence, 1865
Mountain Elaenia, Elaenia frantzii, is a passerine of the Tyrannidae family that breeds in Middle America and South America, from Guatemala to Colombia and Venezuela. It was described by Lawrence in 1865. In the field it is a small to medium elaenia with a rounded crest, and the sexes look alike. Its range is split into separate populations across Central and northern South America, where it occurs in cloudforest, open woodland, scrub, pastures with scattered trees, coffee plantations and forest edges.
