Mountain Pipit, Anthus hoeschi, is a bird of the family Motacillidae that breeds in Lesotho and neighbouring South Africa. Outside the breeding season it is found in DR Congo, Angola and Zambia. It was described by Stresemann in 1938. The bird is linked with high-altitude grassland for breeding in summer, and with subtropical or tropical grassland during the non-breeding period. Its range is centred on southern Africa, with the breeding area in the south and the non-breeding area extending northwards into central Africa.
