Mountain Sooty Boubou

Mountain Sooty Boubou, Laniarius poensis, is a bird of the bushshrike family found in south-east Nigeria, south-west Cameroon and Bioko. It is also known as western boubou or mountain boubou. The species is split into two recognised subspecies, with the nominate form confined to Bioko and the mainland form on Africa’s mainland. On the Cameroon line it ranges from Bioko north to Mount Oku and the Obudu Plateau. It is tied to montane forest, and on Bioko and Mount Cameroon it is limited to that habitat.
