It is characterized by its striking black and white plumage, with a long tail that it habitually wags up and down. This species is known for its distinctive, melodious song, often heard as it perches on rocks or low branches near water. The Mountain Wagtail is an adept insect hunter, frequently seen foraging along the water's edge or in nearby grassy areas. Despite its limited range, this species is not currently considered to be at risk.
