Muscovy Duck, Cairina moschata, is a duck in the Anatidae family and the order Anseriformes. It breeds from southern Texas through Middle America and across South America to northern Argentina. The species is native to the Americas, and it has also been domesticated. Feral birds occur in New Zealand, Australia, the United States, and parts of Central and Eastern Europe. The name is also used for the domestic form in culinary contexts, where it may be called Barbary duck.
