Musk Lorikeet, Glossopsitta concinna, breeds in eastern and south-eastern Australia, including New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. It is an Old World parrot first described by Shaw in 1791. This lorikeet is mainly green and can be recognised by its red forehead, blue crown and yellow wing band. The bill has red tips and darker bases on both mandibles. It occurs in woodlands and drier forests, and is also found in cities. Breeding takes place mainly from August to January, with nests in high tree hollows.
