Nahan's Partridge

Ptilopachus nahani (Dubois, AJC, 1905)

Odontophoridae — New World Quail

Nahan's Partridge, Ptilopachus nahani, breeds in north-eastern DR Congo and western Uganda. It is a terrestrial bird of the rainforests there, and it is the only African representative of the New World quails mentioned in the source. It was once treated as a francolin and placed with Francolinus or Pternistis, but it is now linked most closely with the stone partridge. The species was described by Dubois in 1905.
