Cisticolidae — Cisticolas & Allies

Namaqua Warbler, Phragmacia substriata, is a passerine of the Cisticolidae found in western South Africa and southern Namibia, where it breeds in the Karoo. It lives in thick cover in dry river gullies and in reedbeds close to rivers and dams. It is the only species in Phragmacia, having once been included in Prinia before being recognised as distinct. The bird is usually encountered in pairs or small groups, and is often seen low in scrub with its tail held up.
