Narrow-tailed Emerald, Chlorostilbon stenurus, is a hummingbird of South America, breeding in Venezuela, Colombia and north-eastern Ecuador. It belongs to the family Trochilidae and was described by Cabanis and Heine in 1860. In the Andes and nearby mountain areas it lives in humid forest, scrub and secondary growth between 1,000 and 3,000 m. The species is mostly resident, though it makes local seasonal shifts in height. It has two subspecies, and the males of one are smaller, more yellow-green above and darker in the tail than the nominate form.
