This babbler has a distinctive appearance, with a long curved bill and a rufous-brown plumage. It is known for its melodious and varied calls, which echo through the dense undergrowth of its habitat. This species is primarily insectivorous, foraging on the forest floor and in the low undergrowth. The Naung Mung Scimitar Babbler is currently known from only a few locations and is threatened by habitat loss due to deforestation and human encroachment.
