Necklaced Spinetail

Artisornis moreaui

The Necklaced Spinetail (Artisornis moreaui) is a small, insectivorous bird found in the forests and woodlands of central Africa. It is known for its distinctive black and white plumage, with a striking necklace-like pattern across its chest. These agile birds forage for insects in the dense undergrowth, using their long, slender bills to probe for prey. They are often found in mixed-species flocks, where their high-pitched calls can be heard echoing through the forest. The Necklaced Spinetail is a secretive species, making it challenging to observe in the wild.
