Nepal Swift

Apus nipalensis

The Nepal Swift (Apus nipalensis) is a species of swift found in the Himalayas and surrounding regions. It is a medium-sized swift with long, scythe-shaped wings and a distinctive forked tail. These agile birds are superb aerialists, spending most of their lives on the wing, feeding on flying insects. They are known for their high-pitched calls and are often seen in large flocks during the breeding season. The Nepal Swift nests in rock crevices and cliffs, and its populations are known to undertake seasonal migrations. Despite their wide distribution, their population status and specific ecological requirements are not well-documented.
