New Caledonian Lorikeet, Vini diadema, is a lorikeet of Grande Terre in New Caledonia, in Australasia, and it is likely extinct. It was first described in 1860 by Verreaux and des Murs. The bird is linked to humid montane forest, though it also moves through lowland Melaleuca forest, and records have come from a few scattered parts of the island. It is a small, hard-to-see parrot that keeps to the canopy, and the only confirmed female shows green plumage with a violet-blue crown, a yellowish face, a red vent area, and an orange-red bill.
