New Caledonian Parakeet, Cyanoramphus saisseti, is a parrot of Grande Terre in New Caledonia, within Australasia, and it is confined to that island. It belongs to the Psittaculidae family and was first described in 1860 by Jules Verreaux and Marc Des Murs. It is now treated as a separate species and is the sister lineage to the rest of Cyanoramphus. Its breeding season runs from September to April, with nests placed in tree hollows or cracks in rocks.
