New Caledonian Thicketbird, Cincloramphus mariae, is a passerine found in Grande Terre, New Caledonia, where it breeds. It belongs to the Locustellidae, the grassbirds and allies. The bird is long-tailed and medium-sized, with a striking white supercilium. Its plumage is unstreaked, with olive-brown upperparts, including the crown and wings, and creamy white underparts. It lives in scrubby lowland and hill country, especially maquis minier with ferns, and also uses secondary forest, grassland and dense rainforest. It keeps to thick cover and is hard to see.
