New Ireland Friarbird, Philemon eichhorni, is a honeyeater found in montane New Ireland in the north-east Bismarck Archipelago of Papua New Guinea. It is confined to central and southern montane forests, where it is seldom seen. The first audio recordings were made during an ornithological expedition to the Hans Meyer Range in 2026, after the species had gone unrecorded by science for 15 years.
