Nicobar Bulbul, Hypsipetes nicobariensis, is a bulbul of the Nicobar Islands in the Oriental Region, where it is confined to the central group. Frederic Moore described it in 1854. It lives in moist lowland forest, both primary and secondary, and also uses plantations, rural gardens, occasional urban areas and grassland. A sooty-brown cap reaching to eye level is its most striking feature. It lacks a crest, and its wings, back and tail are dull dusky green, with a paler face and yellowish-white throat and underparts. It gives chattering calls.
