Noisy Scrub-bird

Atrichornis clamosus

The Noisy Scrub-bird (Atrichornis clamosus) is a small, secretive bird species found in the dense undergrowth of heathlands and scrubby woodlands in southwestern Australia. This elusive bird is known for its loud, distinctive call that can be heard during the breeding season. The Noisy Scrub-bird has a mottled brown plumage that provides excellent camouflage in its dense habitat. It forages on the forest floor for insects and small invertebrates, using its long legs and slender bill to probe the leaf litter. Due to habitat loss and predation by introduced species, the Noisy Scrub-bird is considered vulnerable to extinction.
