Norfolk Parakeet, Cyanoramphus cookii, is a parrot of the family Psittaculidae that breeds on Norfolk Island, east of Australia. It is the IOC English name for the bird, and it is also known by other local and former names. The species is confined to native rainforest, though it also moves into nearby plantations and orchards. By 1908 it had retreated to forest near Mount Pitt in the island’s north-west. Its diet is dominated by seeds, especially in winter, and a few plant species account for most of what it eats.
