Northern Giant Hummingbird, Patagona peruviana, is a resident hummingbird of South America, found from south Colombia to northern Chile and north-west Argentina. It belongs to the family Trochilidae and was described by Boucard in 1893. It is the largest hummingbird and one of the two species in Patagona. It is slightly bigger than the southern giant hummingbird, with a longer bill, wings, tail and body. It is non-migratory and lives in the Andes.
