Northern Parula

Setophaga americana

The Northern Parula is a small, migratory songbird found in the eastern United States and parts of Canada. It is known for its striking blue-gray upperparts, yellow throat, and chestnut breast band. This warbler species prefers mature deciduous forests with dense canopies, especially near water sources. They are often found foraging for insects and spiders in the treetops and are known for their high-pitched, buzzy song. The Northern Parula is considered a species of least concern by the IUCN, although it may face threats from habitat loss and climate change.
