Neotis nuba
The Nubian Bustard, or Neotis nuba, is a large bird native to the grasslands and savannas of sub-Saharan Africa. This species is known for its striking appearance, with a predominantly brown plumage and a distinctive black and white pattern on the wings. Nubian Bustards are primarily ground-dwelling birds, foraging for insects, small mammals, and seeds in their open grassland habitat. They are known for their impressive courtship displays, which involve elaborate calls and displays of plumage. Due to habitat loss and hunting pressure, the Nubian Bustard faces conservation challenges in some parts of its range.
