Nubian Woodpeckers primarily inhabit wooded savannas and open forests, where they forage for insects by tapping and pecking on tree trunks. They are often observed in pairs or small family groups. While the population trend is unknown, the Nubian Woodpecker is not currently considered to be at risk and is classified as Least Concern by the IUCN.
