Numfor Paradise Kingfisher, Tanysiptera carolinae, is a kingfisher of the family Alcedinidae that breeds on Numfor in Australasia, off the north-western coast of New Guinea. It was described by Schlegel in 1871. It is confined to that island, where it occurs in forest, light woodland, farmland and coastal vegetation. The bird is a common species, but logging is reducing the forest it depends on. Its status is near-threatened.
