Moho apicalis
The Oahu ʻōʻō, or Moho apicalis, was a species of Hawaiian honeyeater endemic to the island of Oahu. It had striking black and yellow plumage with a distinctive curved bill. Sadly, the Oahu ʻōʻō is now considered extinct, with the last confirmed sighting in 1987. It was a vocal bird, known for its melodious and complex songs. The decline of the Oahu ʻōʻō was primarily due to habitat loss and the introduction of invasive species, such as mosquitoes and avian diseases.
