Oahu Elepaio

Iole viridescens

The Oahu Elepaio (Iole viridescens) is a small, insectivorous bird endemic to the Hawaiian island of Oahu. It is known for its distinctive song and agile foraging behavior. This species has a greenish-gray back, white underparts, and a black cap, with a long, slightly curved bill. Oahu Elepaios inhabit native forests, where they forage for insects by gleaning from foliage and branches. They are known for their territorial behavior and are often observed in pairs or family groups. Due to habitat loss and predation by non-native species, the Oahu Elepaio is considered vulnerable to extinction.
