Moho apicalis Gould, 1861

Oahu Oo, Moho apicalis, was an extinct passerine from Oahu in the Hawaiian Islands, where it lived in mountain forest. It belonged to the Mohoidae, the oos. The bird was first described by Gould in 1861. Males reached 30.5 centimetres in length, with females smaller. Its plumage was mainly sooty black, with brown tail feathers, white tips on most of them, yellow on the flanks and under tail coverts, and black bill and tarsus. The two central tail feathers were narrow and ended in fine hair-like tips. Its biology was not well studied.
