Ochraceous-breasted Flycatcher

Nephelomyias ochraceiventris

The Ochraceous-breasted Flycatcher (Nephelomyias ochraceiventris) is a small to medium-sized passerine bird found in the tropical forests of South America. It is characterized by its ochre-colored underparts, olive-green upperparts, and a distinct pale eyering. This species is known for its insectivorous diet and its agile aerial foraging behavior. It often perches in the mid-story or canopy of the forest, sallying out to catch flying insects. The Ochraceous-breasted Flycatcher is generally a solitary bird, but can be found in mixed-species foraging flocks during the non-breeding season. Its breeding biology and nesting habits are not well-documented. This species is not currently considered to be at risk, and its population trend is believed to be stable.
