Ochre-backed Woodpecker, Celeus ochraceus, is a woodpecker of eastern Brazil in South America, where it is found in a disjunct range. It lives in humid forest, forest edges, gallery forest, savanna, caatinga and orchards. Its plumage is marked by a buff to cinnamon-tinged ochre head, including the crest, with cinnamon-buff to orange-ochre upperparts patterned in black. The sexes differ on the face, with males showing dull red and females streaky black. Juveniles are duller than adults.
