Eugralla paradoxa (Kittlitz, 1830)

Ochre-flanked Tapaculo, Eugralla paradoxa, is a passerine of the tapaculo family that breeds in south-central Chile and western Argentina. It is the only species placed in Eugralla, and it has no subspecies. In its range it lives in dense undergrowth and bamboo within Nothofagus forest and mature secondary woodland, from sea level up to 900 m and possibly higher. A notable feature is its Roman nose facial profile. Adults have dark grey upperparts, paler grey underparts to the abdomen, clay-brown belly and vent, and tawny-brown flanks.
